Today is the big day. I've just uploaded three titles to the Kindle store: Ebb (the last book in The Rim and the Shore); "The Sun-Tail's Song" (the novella between White City and Ebb); and the omnibus edition of The Rim and the Shore (containing Fold Thunder, "Words Falling Like Fire," White City, Burning Sea, "The Sun-Tail's Song," and Ebb).
I've done something a bit different this time. These three titles are all enrolled in Kindle Select, which means they are exclusive to Amazon for 90 days. This also means that you can borrow them through Amazon's lending library and that I will be able to offer a promotion for these titles.
So, I plan on offering Ebb for free starting tomorrow (let's hope everything works out with Amazon by then). That means if you want to read a sample of my work, you'll be able to get it for free. It also means that if you want to finish The Rim and the Shore, you'll be able to get the last book for free (although the novella will still cost you $.99). The promotion should run through Monday or Tuesday. Tell your friends and family!
This is the first time I've used Kindle Select, so I'd like to hear from anyone who has an objection to it--I'm not sure how much of an inconvenience it will cause. Most of my sales come from Amazon, but after the initial 90 days, I will be putting these books up at other locations, so I'm not trying to be permanently exclusive on Amazon.
